Who is your master?

Matthew 23:8,13 May I say as long as you give the Devil his own way he never will be a bad master. Let us keep in mind (II.Cor.11:14,15), “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” (II.Cor.11:14,15,). Satan will receive his just reward at the end of his time.

Let us keep in mind these word that depict the devils work, “subtlety,” “blindness,” “deceitfulness,” “bewitched,” “craftiness,” “beguiled,’’ “wiles,” “snares,” “captivity,” “bondage,” these words are all that denotes Satan works of evil.

Judas betrayed Jesus of Nazareth? “Satan entered into him.” according to the scripture. Peter was over confident, proud of his devotion he had in Jesus, Peter was full of daring things, yet Jesus said to him, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat.”

Let us note (II.Thes. 2:7,9,) “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,” Let us give Jesus Christ our Lord His own way in our life, and we will find Him to be the Good Master, and His service the best and sweetest of all. David stated in (Ps.119:103), “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”

David makes no distinction between promises and precepts, doctrines and threatenings; they are all included in God’s words, and all are precious in his esteem.

The will of God is the only true and lasting good, to be in it is to be in the best of all environments, and the surest and safest way to abiding peace and eternal success, the apostle Paul tells us this in (II.Tim.4:6,8), “ For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

The scripture declares, Good is the will of the Lord,”And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (I.Jh.2:17).

So he that lives for God to the end “abideth for ever;”  Therefore, the object of our being can never be interrupted, let us note (Lk.9:51) “And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,”

If we live, we live to the Lord; if we die, we die unto the Lord, if we toil, we toil doing God’s will, If we suffer, we bears it, If we be on earth we will fulfil the Father’s will in this life, if we depart hence, we fulfil it in heaven.

The supreme object of our existence is sure to be realized under any circumstances, through all outward changes, in all possible places, and in any state of being, and throughout the ages of eternity, note (Ac.7:55) “ But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,”

Let speak about our Relationship to our Lord Jesus. You are not your own, for you have been redeemed at a great cost according to (1.Cor.6:20).

We his servants have been bought with a price, the value of which is for ever beyond the understanding of man‘s finite mind, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:” (I.Pt.1:18,19).

It does not become those bought with His blood to be servants of sin, we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and for Him, “therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God‘s. ”

We must ask the Lord to give us the right motives in our heart. “I love my master…I will not go free” (Ex. 21:5). The experience of this Hebrew is that of all those who have yielded themselves heartily to the service of Jesus Christ, they fall in love with their Master, and count His service the greatest liberty and sweetest delight “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him,. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.” (Jh. 6:66-68).

According to (II.Cor.5:14) “The love of Christ constraineth us.” We love Him because He first loved us.

We all have our work to do for Christ. “The Son of Man….gave…. to every man his work” (Mk.13: 34). To each one his special duty.”

Jesus does not lay upon every servant the same task; the gift of work is according to the character of the vessel, or the ability of the worker. To the church he gave, “ And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;“ (Eph.4:11).

A vessel made meet for the Master’s use will be put by Him to the highest possible use, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Mt.16:18,19).

Let us not say “What can I do? ” but “What wilt Thou have me to do?” “Christ is over His own house; whose house are we ? ” according to (Heb.3: 6). “But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.”

Therefore the ordering of the vessels and the service is in His hands. “Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me” Jonah1:1,2).

The Lord will always Supply our needs. “He called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come” (Lk. 19:13).

When He gives the work, He gives the power to carry it out, “ And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:” (Mk.3:13,15).

Each servant received his pound, and each pound meant a Pentecost, it was an enduement with power, to occupy his place till he should come again, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

The Spirit of God is given to ever person who will receive it, “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” ( Ac.2:39).

Let us take heed that we are serving with His gift, the gift of the Holy Ghost and not depending on our own acquirement, to the neglect of His pound and the ruin of our own testimony.

The Lord of our life is saying to us, “Occupy till I come;” put out this pound, employ this sacred opportunity now within your reach, turn it to good account, use your capacities and your circumstances for high and noble ends, for your own spiritual enlargement, for the good of your brethren, for the glory of Christ.

Jesus will always encouragement us while we are at work for him “Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the age” (Mt.28:20).

This is not only the promise of His presence, it is the assurance of His co-operation, To Gideon the Lord said, “The Lord is with thee…. go in this thy might” (Judg 6:12,14).

As servants, we are His property, to do His work, using His means and enjoying His presence and help.

In this holy service we have nothing that we have not received, but in this lies the secret of our confidence

We take His yoke upon us, and so learn of Him, in doing so he will give us power to endure, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Phil4:13).

We, as God’s Servant’s will receive our reward. Look at what (Mt.25:21) tells us,“well done, good and faithful servant….enter thou into the joy of the Lord”

As ye have shared your Master’s service and sufferings, ye shall also be sharers of His joy, “In His right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Ps.16:11),.

None shall pluck us out of the master’s hand. The servant of Jesus Christ has a mighty reward now, as well as awaiting him, for the Spirit of God is in him and the joy of the Lord before him.

Eternal life is a gift, but it is the overcomers who sit with Him on His throne according to (Rev.3:21) “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”

This reward is not for ‘being saved, but for being faithful servants, “If we suffer we shall also reign with Him.”
