Light out of darkness

Job12:22,23

God discovers deep things out of darkness. God sees us inwardly.

God has knowledge which are sealed to us, a key which unlocks the most secret chamber, an eye that can see down to the most hidden depths. “He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves.”(Ps.66:7).

He sees the skeleton in our closet.

He sees the mask of the hypocrite and can never be deceive him.

Man looks on the outward countenance, God on the heart “for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” (I.Sam. 16:7).

His indwelling Spirit sees as far as it influences, and it influences the inmost spring of our being “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Gen.6:5).

God sees everything immediately at all times.

This results from his inward vision “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Heb.4:13).

We have to infer and draw conclusions by means of a chain of events.

God can dispense with this process. He sees everything, his knowledge is direct and sees all. “Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.” (Ps.139:12).(3.) God sees everywhere.

Our vision is limited to a certain area. The Lord saw the disciples on the sea in the midst of the storm “And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: “ (Mk.6:48).

God’s infinite gaze takes in all the facts of the universe at once “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (Heb.1:3).

What deep things God being to light.

He discovers hidden sin ‘Thou art the man.” (II.Sam.12:7),

God knows when the first black thoughts enter the minds of the originators.

The sin which has once been committed is all known to God, though it may have been hushed up and kept from the observation of people “For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.” (Mt.14:3).

In the great day of judgment God will being all things to light.

He discovers hidden goodness.

All that God bring out of its secret hiding place is not evil.

Miners bring up precious minerals from the dark interior of the earth.

All hidden good God observes its worth, it is perfectly well known to him “And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:” (Lk.21:2,3).

He sees and understands the innocence that cruelly misjudged and condemned as guilt by people

Some day he will bring that to light, and vindicate the cause of every true martyr.

The calling of Abraham, the raising up of Moses, the deliverance of Israel. The elevation of David, the “rod out of his stem,” the lowly Messiah,” The progress of the gospel and the beginning of the Reformation is all a part of light coming out of darkness.

Let us note the consequences that result from God’s discovery of the deep things of darkness.

He will rectify all wrong. He will give righteous judgments.

God has the ability to read the secret thoughts and intentions of the heart “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Heb.6:12,13) in particular to detect and expose the deep and desperate designs off the wicked.

He knew the heart of Absalom against David his father (II. Sam.15:6) and Haman against the Jews in (Esth. 3:9) of Herod against Jesus (Mt.2:8) and of the Jews against the apostle Paul in (Ac.23:21).

The dark creature of sin that are brought to light cannot be left out in the full blaze of the sun to befoul the day with their filth “But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly...Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven” (Gen.19:24).
