Oneness Two

John 1:14
Jesus Christ is truly the Word made flesh according to John1:1”... And the Word was God.” ( ver.14 ) tell us “…and thWord was made flesh, and dwelt among us.”Jesus was not a member of the Godhead., the Godhead dwelt in him. Col.2:9 “… For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Jesus is not the second person in the Godhead as so many people teach. According to John, Jesus is the first and last. Rev.1:17 “…And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last.”

Jesus’ authority included all of heaven and earth, according to Matthew. Matt.28:18 “… All power is given unto me in heaven and earth.” Jesus had the charge to forgive sin.We no that only God can forgive sin. Mark 2:7 “…Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? Who can forgive sin but God only.” There can not be two are three who can forgive sin , just one and his name is Jesus. Matt.1:21 “…and thou shalt call his name JESUS for he shall save his people from their sin.”

Jesus had the power to heal all manner of sickness and diseases. He could heal the body, soul and mind of all that came to him, We know that only God can do these mighty deed. The God of the Old Testament headed his people in many wonderful ways. Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria was healed by God in a great way, the scripture tell us he was a leper. II Kings 5:10 tell us how God healed him. “...And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.” God moved in to the New Testament to heal his people in a new and greater way. I Peter 2:24 “…by his stripes ye were healed.” How did God heal his people in the early church Acts 3:5”… Then Peter said , Sliver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” In and through the name of Jesus was the early Christians healed and we are made whole to day in that sane name. Jesus was the Word made flesh. I John1:1”...That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and our hands have handled, of the Word of life.” There is no question to whom the apostle John was speaking of, it was none other than his Lord Jesus, for he had walked with Jesus for more than three years.

We know that only God can give life. All living things have come from God. Acts 17:25 “…seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all thing;” Jesus was the resurrection and life John 11:25 “……I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believe in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” Jesus proved that he could raise the dead, and the dead could live again. John 11:44”…And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go.” Truly Jesus was the visible image of the invisible God. Heb.1:3”… Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, upholding all thing by the Word of his power.” God manifested his power and love through the person of Jesus Christ.

There was nothing that Jesus could not do while he was on earth. He proved his power over the devil and the evil spirits ,Satan was subject to Jesus. Matt.4:11”…Get thee hence, Satan…Then the devil leave  him.” The  scripture gives us an example of the Lord casting out tke devil out of a mans life in Mark 5:6 “… For he said unto him, Come out of him, thou unclean spirit.” ( ver. 9 ) gives us the devils name. “…And he asked him, What is thy mane,? And he answered, saying, My mane is Legion: for we are many.” The devil is wise when it come to knowing who Jesus is. James 2:19 “… Thou beleivest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devil also believe, and trembles”  Lord gave his church the power to cast out devils also. Mark 16:17 “…And these signs shall follow them that believe, In may name shall they cast out devils.”

As powerful as nature is, nature must obey the voice of Jesus. It was the great I Am in the Old Testament that divided the Red sea, it was not Moses but the Lord. Ex. 14:21”…And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord cause the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.” In the New Testament Jesus reveal himself as the great I AM Matt. 8:58 “…Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I AM.”  The great I AM was embody in the person of Jesus, therefore nature had to obey the voice of Jesus. The  Lord affirmed his dominion over nature in Matt. 8:26 “… And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith ? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.” Thank God there is no storm to great that our Lord cannot over come. The storms of life may be great, but they can not separate us from the love of God. Rom. 8:37 “…Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” The incarnated God that was in Christ was the creator  of the wind and sea, he design nature, therefore the element must comply. We must not for get the miracle of Cana of Galilee. John 2:10 “… but thou has kept the good wine until now.” The Lord was a great boundless miracle worker, that very day. We must not forget that he is the same yesterday, to day and for ever. He is a God who will do wonderful thing for all of us if we will put our trust in him. Jesus had the power to turn the water in to wine, why,? Because he was the mighty God. Acts 2:36 “…Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified ,both Lord and Christ.”

The God that dwelt in Jesus Christ has always been, he had no beginning and has no ending. Rev. 1:6 “… I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and ending saith the Lord, which is and is to come, the Almighty.” The Father had no beginning, he is the creator of all things, he made heaven and earth and all spiritual beings. There was a beginning for the Tabernacle in which he used to live among men.Gal. 4:4 “…But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his son made of a woman, made under the law.” There is no debate what so ever that God was in the the temple of Jesus Christ. II Cor. 5:19 “… To wit, that God was in Christ , reconciling the world unto himself. “ The body of Christ was begotten, which simply means it was produced in time, the body was not eternal, it had it’s beginning at Bethlehem of Judea. Matt. 1:25 “…And new her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name. Jesus” We must keep in mind that only the Father is eternal, immortal, invisible. Heb. 11: 27 “…for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.” There is not two are three in the Godhead. Col. 1:19 “...For it pleased the Father that in him should all the fullness dwell;”  The fulness of the Godhead dwelt is in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among men according to the apostle John. Allow me to close with this Old Testament scripture. Deut. 6:4 “… Hear, O Israel the Lord our God is one Lord.” ( ver. 7 ) tell us this “… and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.” What are we to teach our children ? That there is only one true God.
