“I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not.”
God was willing and ready to guide the people out of Babylon.
Our life is dotted over with special scenes of rescue and deliverance. O how we must say to the Lord. you are our God for ever and ever, you will be our guide unto the end of our life.
We like the ability to guide our life in this world. There are many perplexity in the circumstances of our life.
We become faint hearted. We often like faith. We are undiscerning so much of the time “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.“ (I.Cor 3:14)
Our divine guide ensures us a safe and good way “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” (Ps.23:3)
We can not grasp the purpose of life. God hold all life.
What are we here for? God’s knows. How well will our work fit into the work of other? Only God knows that “But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:’ (Ac.9:15)
We are only servants working at parts of a plan which has never been shown us. The Divine Architect is our Guide, and shows us just what we have to do.
There are those in a despairing spirit, asking is life worth living?
Life is worth living if we put it in the hands of the Lord.
We cannot make a way of life. We plan, but life does not carry out our plan. We, wish, but life will not fulfill our desires.
Every one of us has to say, when life closes, I could not have imagined the way in which I have been lead.
The scripture declares “It is not in man that walketh to direct his steps” We so often explore our future in vain.
The Lord knows the way of life for all of us. He “Leads in paths that we have not known.”
David Tending his sheep could not even imagine the way of life he was to take. Yet God was guiding him step by step along a way he had marked out for him.
Saul the zealous Hebrew who was against the church, nevertheless was found teaching the crucified Christ, impossible, But under God’s guidance, it was the way that he took “And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.” (Ac.9:20)
We cannot meet the claims of life. Only God can help and does help us.
It was God who supplied the needs of the people on their long desert-journey after leaving Egypt.
At times the responsibilities resting on us seems quite overwhelming, and our heart and flesh fail us. Let us be reminded of the amazing contrast between what a man can do by himself, and what man can do when God is with him “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Rom.8:37)
Wonderful becomes our “Enduring” when we can “see him who is invisible.”
Remember, that the ever-strengthening conviction, which makes spiritual giants, is that God never gives any man work to do without holding out, ready for him, grace for doing “My grace is sufficient for thee:” II.Cor.12:9)
We cannot provide for the needs of life. O, how we want knowledge that anticipates all wants, and the abilities that can meet all our needs.
May I say, the various needs of life may be gathered under one heading. The renewal of our body, by sleep, health, by air, fool, medicine, mind, knowledge and our
heart by love.
May I say against, It is nothing short of a Divine thing to arrange for the needs of a single life. Many of our needs to which we are blind, of them, we knows nothing. God knows, guides and will provides “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Phil.4:19
We cannot master the ills of life. God over rulers in all things.
Again and again we have to face calamities in conscious helplessness.
What can Job do with his life? The Sabaeans carry off his flocks. Mighty winds bring the house down upon his sons and daughters.
Painful diseases afflict his own body. Job fines he cannot master none of the ills of life.
Darkness is round him, thing are crooked. Yet God is his life guide.
We must believe all circumstances are all in his control. He over rulers.
God makes the very ills turn to good, by securing for Job, a new and more spiritual hold of himself, and by making Job the supreme example of patience for the whole world.
He brings light on the darkness, and makes the crooked things go straight.
In view of our helplessness and God’s all-sufficing helpfulness, we may well lift our eyes and hearts up to God and say, you shall be the guide of my life.
We cannot grasp the purpose of life. We cannot make a way of Life. We cannot meet the claims. We cannot provide for the needs of life. We cannot master the ills of life “And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight.”(v.16)
