God’s claims are infinitely superior to all that we may assert. We are to love and serve the Lord with all of our heart and soul and might, According to (Deut. 6:5)
In the serve of our heart and soul God will never for a moment abandon his rights. We have learned that we must live not unto ourselves, but solely and entirely unto God.
Remember the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Thinehas who were punished for failing to fulfill God’s will, they also brought shame upon there father.
According to (Hos 6:6) the lord requires knowledge more than burnt offering, “For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”
We do not read of any ambition in Jesus to be independent. He never murmured against the Father business, He declared,“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” (John 9:4)
Jesus began life with no thought of self-pleasing, but with the single aim to please the Father. He new nothing of a divided heart or of a weavering will. There was total wholeheartedness, standfastness and surrender to the Father’s will. “Not my will, but thine, be done” Jesus’ thought was “My Fether’s business.”
Wherever Jesus was, he knew and felt God to be near.In every task he knew the Father was present.
He was doing God’s will in learning about the law. In the Temple worship and teaching God’s Word was making Himself known to him. He lived with and for God.
God has given us a common duty. God is our Father, and there is a business that God has assigned to each of us. Notice what John said in (John 4 :4) about Jesus “And he must needs go through Samaria”
It is called our Father’s business, he will punish all who neglects it, and wonderfully reward those who observes it his business.
In the Lord’s business we are under an obligation to regard and pursue it. Notices (Rom.11:29)
We are not to observed it as a thing of indifference. It is not an optional thing, we must be about our Father’s business. Jesus declared in (John 3:14) ” And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.”
We are under the obligation of justice in the Lord’s business. What ever talents you possess, or blessings you enjoy, they come from him.
Keep in mind God never relinquishes his property in any one them. To Abraham the Lord promised,”And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God” (Gen. 17:8)
Jesus said “I must be about my Father’s business” His answer is to be our answer to all who may ask us our business in God’s kingdom.
Note the words, “Wist ye not” this simply mean, know ye not. Mary, you have reason to know, You know my design in coming into the world, that design was superior to any duty are earthly law.
Mary had not forgotten Jesus’ purpose to be in the world, but time and circumstances had covered them with a veil.
Oh how we must listen when he speak, we must respond to his call in the coming days, we must be found in doing his service today.
Let each of us become the object of his Divine approval. Note what the Lord said to Zacchaeus,”Zacchaeus, make hast, and come down, for to day I must abide at thy huose.” (Lk. 19:5)
Let the Lord say unto us, “ Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things:enter thou into the joy of the Lord.” Matt. 25:21)
