God has given us the world, and we are to go forth and work with it, modified, transform, and develop it as it please God’s. It is his will for us to make good use of this world.
We are to take the things of this life for bodily comfort, for mental enlargement, for social enjoyment, and greatest of all for spiritual growth. The apostle Peter left these works behind for us, ” But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” ( II Peter 3:18)
There is a sines in which man has temporarily misused the Divine idea. Sin is a sad and serious departure from the purpose of God. Infidelity, blasphemy, vice, cruelty, crime, poverty, misery, starvation and death, all these things is not what God meant for us. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (III John 2 ) It is God’s will for each of us to prosper.
Sin has change the course of people life, yet God’s plan for us will not change. The counsel of the Lord will forever stand. The counsel of the thoughts of God’s heart is to all generations.
From the beginning God was going to work out righteousness and blessedness, in other words our salvation, Yes sin will be removed one day from this world, “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fating together; and a little child shall lead them.” ( Isaiah 11: 8)
There is coming a time that we will be all that God has designed us to be. Keep in mind there is a Divine law at work to day. The same law that was at work in the beginning is still at work today.
Let me tell you what sin has brought us, suffering and sorrow, yet righteousness has worked out our well being and joy, diligence has been followed by fruitfulness, idleness by destitution, generosity has been recompensed with love, selfishness with leanness of soul.
What God has felt toward sin in days gone by, he fills today. Sin is a thing God hates. In Jesus God’s intolerance of sin is revealed, his Divine determination to conquer and destroy is seen. What God has always felt toward sinners he feels today. That is Divine grief, compassion and a desire to restore the penitent.
Solomon declared “God doth it that man should fear before him.” God’s one unchanging desire is that his people should live a pure and holy life before him. All of God’s characters, things such as joy, peace, love and longsuffering are intend to lead us to him.
He is a God that never changes, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and forever.” ( Heb. 13:8) let each of us build our life on God’s character.
